The motifs for the symbol of FUFU Hakone are tortoiseshell and Hakone mountains. The area that FUFU Hakone stands, Gora, literally means hard shell in Japanese, was named so because it is rocky and the earth is as hard as tortoiseshell. The symbol portrays the Hakone mountains, rock shadows, and Hakone’s traditional wood mosaic work inside a hexagon, which resembles a tortoiseshell.
FUFU Hakone features artworks with rock motifs and photographs of earth surface. Rock wraps the surface of the earth, moon, and numerous planets. You will feel the world, the earth, and the universe while being in Gora Hakone.
